St. Jean Earns Third All-Conference Nod, Gutierrez, Stevens Also Recognized
TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College women's soccer team had three players honored as the Landmark Conference announced its All-Conference teams on Wednesday afternoon. Senior defender Belle St. Jean was named Second Team All-Conference, recognized as an All-Conference performer for the third time. First year goalkeeper Madison Gutierrez was also named Second Team All-Conference, while senior midfielder Carly Stevens earned Honorable Mention.
St. Jean is the second Goucher women's soccer player to be named Landmark All-Conference three times, joining Sisley Pumilia, who was honored three straight times from 2008-10. St. Jean was also a Second Team selection in 2021 and earned First Team accolades last season. Belle started all 17 games for Goucher, one of four players to do so, and anchored a defense that posted a 1.00 goals-against average and registered five shutouts.
Gutierrez appeared in 15 games in goal for Goucher, starting 14. She recorded a 1.00 goals against average and .806 save percentage while posting five shutouts in her rookie campaign. Madison's .806 save percentage leads the conference, while she ranks third in goals against average.
Stevens played in 16 games this season, starting 15. She finished the season with three goals and an assist for seven points while being an anchor in the midfield for Goucher. Over three seasons Stevens played in 48 games with 34 starts and finished with four goals and four assists.
Goucher finished 2023 with its fewest losses since 2012 and setting a program record for draws, going 4-5-8 overall.
