Gophers Wrap Up Season Against Wilkes on Senior Day

TOWSON, Md. - Visiting Wilkes University scored a first half goals as it moved past Goucher College for a 2-0 Landmark Conference women's soccer victory Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at Beldon Field. The game marked the season finale for both teams.

• Goucher (3-11-4, 0-7-2 Landmark) goalie Madison Gutierrez made her first save of the game 3:20 in.
• Wilkes' (5-10-3, 2-5-2) Taylor Anthony scored in the 12th minute to give the Colonels a 1-0 lead.
• Gutierrez made a pair of saves two minutes apart, the second coming in the 17th minute.
• Nora Neall had her shot from distance saved by Colonel goalie Delaney Yaracs in the 24th minute.
• Madison Straub scored with just under 20 minutes remaining to give the guests a 2-0 lead.

• Vivika Cordova had a shot saved by Yaracs with 25 minutes to go.
• Gutierrez made a save on Aliah Balch's shot with 11 minutes left.
• Wilkes put three more shots on goal in the final eight minutes, with Gutierrez stopping all three.

• Wilkes outshot Goucher 17-5, including 10-1 in the second half.
• The Colonels took eight corner kicks to the Gophers' two.
• Gutierrez made nine saves, while Yaracs recorded two stops en route to the shutout.
• Prior to the game, the Gophers recognized their four seniors, Cordova, Olivia Catania, Sofie Pulone and Lexi Recke.
