Goucher's Britt Hogstrom (Killington, Vt./Woodstock Union) placed first and broke her own school record in the 50-yard freestyle today at the Seahawk Invitational, a last-chance meet for Division III swimmers looking to improve their times in order to qualify for the 2009 NCAA Division III Women's Swimming & Diving Championships in March.

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Goucher's Britt Hogstrom
(Killington, Vt./Woodstock Union) placed first and broke
her own school record in the 50-yard freestyle today at the Seahawk
Invitational, a last-chance meet for Division III swimmers looking
to improve their times in order to qualify for the 2009 NCAA
Division III Women's Swimming & Diving Championships in March.
Hogstrom completed the event in :24.48, which beats the time she established (:25.02) as the all-time fastest in the history of Goucher's women's swimming program eight days ago at the 2009 Landmark Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships. However, the junior missed the time she needed to provisionally qualify for NCAAs by 7-hundredths of a second.
Hogstrom, who is the reigning Landmark champion in the 50 free, 100 free and 200 free, was recognized as the conference's Co-Female Swimmer of the Year for 2008-09.
