Gophers Slip to 1-1 with 148-114 Loss to Cardinals

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Goucher's Britt Hogstrom
(Killington, Vt./Woodstock Union) placed first in three
individual events today in the Gophers' 148-114 loss to
Catholic.
Hogstrom's first victory was in the 200-yard freestyle where her
winning time was 2:07.30. She also touched first in the 50 free
(:26.04) and 100 free (:57.08).
Bethany Natoli (Alexandria, Va./O'Connell) placed
first in the 50 breast (:30.16) and was runner-up in the 100 back
(1:05.43), and Sam Sutherland (North Reading, Mass./Austin
Prep) was victorious in the 50 butterfly (:29.29).
In the relays, Goucher (1-1) took first, second and third place in
the 400 free and second and third in the 400 medley. Natoli,
Sandy Okun (Stevenson, Md./McDonogh School),
Rachel Leavitt-Baron (Seattle, Wash./Seattle
Academy) and Caroline Marris (Merchantville,
N.J./George School) made up the victorious 400 free relay,
which completed the event in 4:09.12.
