Craver Touches First for Goucher in 200 Free, 200 IM
KINGS POINT, N.Y. — Nicole Craver (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) produced the only two first-place performances for Goucher this afternoon in a Landmark Conference double dual.
Gophers Bow to Rangers, Mariners to Finish with 2-10 Record
KINGS POINT, N.Y. — Nicole Craver (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) produced the only two first-place performances for Goucher this afternoon in a Landmark Conference double dual.
The Gophers bowed to both Drew, 58-37, and the the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, 71-37, to wrap up their 2011-12 regular season with a 2-10 overall record (0-6 Landmark). The Mariners (7-2, 3-1 Landmark) defeated the Rangers (2-4, 1-2 Landmark), 69-39.
Craver bested the field in the 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard individual medley. The freshman's winning times were 2:04.70 in the 200 free and 2:23.66 in the 200 IM.
She also swam the opening leg on Goucher's entry in the 400 free relay that took second place with its time of 4:08.58. The other three swimmers on the unit were Kellyn Brower (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge), Rachel Leavitt-Baron (Seattle, Wash./Seattle Academy) and Sarah Pardus (Stratham, N.H./Exeter).
Goucher's Victoria Adinolfi (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) was runner-up in the 100 butterfly as she completed the event in 1:06.30.
