Craver Completes 200 IM in 2:15.99, Third Place
READING, Pa. — Nicole Craver (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) placed third overall in the 200-yard individual medley tonight, the best finish by a Goucher swimmer in any of the four individual events that were conducted on the first day of the 2012 Landmark Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships.
Gophers Score 67.5 Points on First Day, Occupy Eighth Place
READING, Pa. — Nicole Craver (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) placed third overall in the 200-yard individual medley tonight, the best finish by a Goucher swimmer in any of the four individual events that were conducted on the first day of the 2012 Landmark Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships.
The freshman completed the 200 IM in 2:15.99 and earned 16 points for the Gophers by finishing in third place.
While the Gophers didn't advance any swimmers into the championship finals in any of the other three individual events, Sarah Pardus (Stratham, N.H./Exeter) swam her way into the consolation finals of the 50-yard freestyle where she shared 11th place by turning in a time of 26.01 seconds.
Entries from Goucher wound up in seventh place in the 400 medley relay and eighth in the 200 free relay, scoring a combined total of 46 points. In the 400 medley relay, Kellyn Brower (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge), Craver, Victoria Adinolfi (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) and Pardus recorded a time of 4:22.93; in the 200 free, Pardus, Adinolfi, Rachel Leavitt-Baron (Seattle, Wash./Seattle Academy) and Craver were clocked at 1:46.72.
The Gophers scored 67.5 points today and sit in eighth place.
