Craver Makes Championship Finals in Second Event
READING, Pa. — Nicole Craver (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area), who placed third in the 200-yard individual medley on the opening day of the 2012 Landmark Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, was back in the championship finals of another individual event today, the final day of the three-day meet.
Gophers Wind Up with 172.5 Points to Finish in 8th Place
READING, Pa. — Nicole Craver (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area), who placed third in the 200-yard individual medley on the opening day of the 2012 Landmark Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, was back in the championship finals of another individual event today, the final day of the three-day meet.
The freshman earned 11 points for the Gophers by finishing in eighth place in the 200-yard breaststroke. She was clocked at 2:37.47.
Four other Goucher swimmers were in consolation finals today: Victoria Adinolfi (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) posted a time of 2:31.82 to place 11th overall in the 200 butterfly, Mel Lovalvo (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) completed the 1650 freestyle in 19:30.34, good for 14th place, and Kellyn Brower (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) and Sarah Pardus (Stratham, N.H./Exeter) were 16th, respectively, in the 200 backstroke (2:24.51) and 100 free (:58.29).
Goucher's entry of Pardus, Adinolfi, Rachel Leavitt-Baron (Seattle, Wash./Seattle Academy) and Craver placed eighth in the 200 free relay with a time of 3:55.92.
Including the 44 points they picked up today, head coach Thomas Till's Gophers wound up with a three-day score of 172.50 points to finish in eighth place.
