Craver Touches First for Gophers in 100 Breast, 200 IM

MARY'S CITY, Md. — The only Goucher swimmer who was able to touch first in an individual event during today's meet against St. Mary's (Md.) was Nicole Craver (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area). The freshman also accounted for the only second-place performance by the Gophers, who were soundly beaten by the Seahawks, 155-49.

The freshman also accounted for the only second-place performance by the Gophers, who were soundly beaten by the Seahawks, 155-49.
Craver placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard individual medley, and was runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle. Her winning times were 1:14.03 in the 100 breast and 2:19.27 in the 200 IM; she completed the 100 free in :58.34.
The Seahawks (5-0) pulled off 1-2-3 finishes in the 50 free, 100 butterfly and 500 free, and were prevented from doing it in three additional events because Catherine Gepner (West Allenhurst, N.J./Ocean Twp.) placed third in the 1000 free (12:20.93), Rachel Lyon (Fallston, Md./The John Carroll School) placed third in the 200 free (2:14.77) and Kellyn Brower (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) placed third in the 100 backstroke (1:09.05).
The Gophers (0-3) also took third place in both relay events.
