Gophers Notch Second Win, Pin 57-37 Setback on Gators

Craver Touches First in Two Freestyle Events, 100 Breast
BALTIMORE, Md. — Nicole Craver (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) placed first in three individual events this evening in leading Goucher to a 57-37 triumph over Notre Dame (Md.).
The freshman picked up five points for the Gophers (2-6) with each of her first-place performances, which came in the 100- and 200-yard freestyles and the 100-yard breaststroke. She completed the 100 free in :58.75 and the 200 free in 2:04.62; her winning time in the 100 breast was 1:14.94.
The meet began with Goucher's entry of Kellyn Brower (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge), Tierney Doran (Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach), Catherine Gepner (West Allenhurst, N.J./Ocean Twp.) and Rachel Leavitt-Baron (Seattle, Wash./Seattle Academy) taking first place in the 160-yard medley relay with its time of 1:41.65. Gepner came right back to touch first in the 1000 free (12:01.50).
Victoria Adinolfi (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie), Rachel Lyon (Fallston, Md./The John Carroll School) and Brower were each the top performer in one individual event for the Gophers: Adinolfi in the 100 butterfly (1:07.34), Lyon in the 500 free (5:52.56) and Brower in the 160 individual medley (2:00.49).
The only events in which the Gators (2-1) took first place were the 100 backstroke, the 40 free and the 160 free relay.
