Royals Come Out on Top Against Eagles, Gophers
HUNTINGDON, Pa. — The top finish by a Goucher swimmer in today's meet that included Juniata and Scranton came from Mel Lovalvo (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) in the 800-meter freestyle. She completed the event in 10:25.52, good for second place.
Lovalvo Completes 200 IM in 2:42.67, Good for Second Place
HUNTINGDON, Pa. — The top finish by a Goucher swimmer in today's meet that included Juniata and Scranton came from Mel Lovalvo (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) in the 800-meter freestyle. She completed the event in 10:25.52, good for second place.
Nicole Craver (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area) provided the Gophers with their only third-place performance in an individual event and that was in the 200-meter individual medley (2:42.67).
The meet among the three Landmark Conference schools was dominated by Scranton. The Royals (6-1, 3-0 Landmark) defeated Goucher, 222-38, and Juniata, 178-83. The Eagles (4-3, 1-2 Landmark) did come out of the event with a split as they posted a 157-83 victory over head coach Thomas Till's Gophers (0-5, 0-4 Landmark).
