Regopoulos Sets New 800-Meter Freestyle Pool Record

The Gophers came out of the meet with their fourth victory of the season, as well as their third loss. They pinned a 111-93 setback on the Eagles (0-3), but were handed a 144-60 defeat by the Royals (5-0).
Regopoulos became the second person already this season to set a new Juniata pool record in the 800-meter freestyle when she completed the event in 9:39.22. Back on October 17, Grace Magerr from Millersville posted a time of 9:43.96 to break a record that had existed since 2002.
Regopolous was also the first to touch in the 200m free (2:16.46) and the 400m free (4:45.01).
Ila Jackson (Columbia, Md./homeschooled) was the runner-up in both the 50m free (:29.03) and the 100m breaststroke (1:25.86). Lizzy Hannifin (Denver, Colo./East) took third place in the 100m free (1:05.97).
The Gophers (4-3) are scheduled to compete in a dual meet against Notre Dame (Md.) on November 18.
