Gophers Fall to .500 with Loss to Marywood

Molly Brenton (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Twp.), Kyanna Cadwallader (Gainesville, Fla./Gainesville), Ila Jackson (Columbia, Md./homeschooled) and Lizzy Hannifin (Denver, Colo./East) led the charge with a 2:00.02 time in the first relay while Alexis Regopoulos (Fitchburg, Mass/North Middlesex Regional) joined Brenton, Cadwallader and Jackson to post a 1:48.70 time in the last one.
Aside from the relay, Regopoulos notched two first-place finishes in the 500 free (5:29.00) and the 1000 free (11:22.83). She was clocked at 2:05.92 in the 200 free, good for second place.
Hannifin had a strong day for the Gophers (5-5) as she finished first in the 50 free (:26.28) and second in the 100 free (:58.56).
Brenton placed second in two events with a :31.42 clocked time in the 50-yard back and a 2:29.01 finish in the 200-yard back. Cadwallader joined her in second as she recorded a time of :30.40 in the 50-yard fly.
In her first 400 IM of the season, Rachel Kieffer (Granada Hills, Calif./Reseda) finished in second place with a time of 5:23.90.
The Pacers (5-4) placed first in 9 of the 13 individual events. They drew a 1-2 finish in the 50-yard breaststroke and a 1-2-3 finish in the 200-yard fly.
Goucher hosts Susquehanna at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the Gophers' final home meet of the 2015-16 season.
