Women's Swimming Opens New Year with Narrow Loss at Marywood in Dual Meet

SCRANTON, Pa. - The Goucher College Women's swimming team fell to Marywood University Saturday afternoon, 138-121.
How It Happened:
- To start off the dual meet, a team of seniors Molly Brenton (Lancaster, Pa.) and Kyanna Cadwallader (Gainesville, Fla.), junior Ila Jackson (Columbia, Md.), and first-year Alexis Liszewski (St. Louis, Mo.) took first place in the 200-Medley Relay with a time of 2:01.53.
- Senior Alexis Regopoulos (Fitchburg, Mass.) grabbed first place in both the 1000-Freestyle (11:34.13) and 500-freestyle (5:37.02). She also took second place in the 200-Freestyle (2:06.46).
- Cadwallader snatched second place in the 100-Breaststroke in 1:15.92.
- Liszewski finished a close second in the 100-Freestyle, finishing in 53.53, .35 seconds off from the first place time.
- First-year Bailee Buckner (Windsor Mills, Md.) collected a first-place finish in the 100-Freestyle in 1:10.20.
- And to close the meet, a school of Regopoulos, Brenton, Liszwerski and first-year Kathryn Shannon (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), took first place in the 200- Freestyle Relay in 1:49.05.
The Gophers hop back in the water next Saturday when the swim off against Landmark opponent Susquehanna. The senior day meet at home begins at 1 p.m.
