Liszewski Snaps Record in 50-Free for Women’s Swimming at Landmark Championships
GERMANTOWN, Md. - First-year Alexis Liszewski (St. Louis, Mo.) of the Goucher College women’s swimming team finished second in the 50-freestyle, while the 400-medley relay team placed third to lead the Gophers on the first night of the 2018 Landmark Conference Championships at the Germantown Swim Center.

Overall as a team, Goucher finds themselves in sixth place overall after the first night of competition.
On the night, Liszewski was impressive in her first Landmark Conference Championship appearance, as she posted the second-best time in both the prelims (24.53) and the finals (24.39) of the 50-free, narrowly losing out on a top spot in the event to Katie Willis of Susquehanna.
Liszewski's time of 24.39 in the 50-free was also a school-record in the event, snapping the previous mark set by Britt Hogstrom in 2009 (24.48).
Also in the 50-free, junior Ila Jackson (Columbia, Md.) earned a spot in the finals with a prelim time of 25.02, then finished eighth overall with a mark of 24.92.
In the final event of the evening, the 400-medley relay team of Liszewski, Jackson, and senior's Molly Brenton (Lancaster, Pa.) and Kyanna Cadwallader (Gainesville, Fla.), were third in a time of 4:12.28.
Elsewhere on the night, senior Alexis Regopoulos (Fitchburg, Mass.) was fourth in the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:19.81 in the finals. Also, the 500-freestyle relay squad of Jackson, Cadawaller, and Liszewski was fifth in a time of 1:40.47 to round out the top five performances in final events for the evening.
