Senior Ivelisse Rivera earned four letters in her career at Goucher as a member of the women's swimming team, participating in the Landmark Conference Championships in each season she was in the program. Out of the pool, she was named to the Landmark Conference's Academic Honor Roll last month for the first time in her career.
Why did you choose to come to Goucher and be an athlete?
I chose to come to Goucher and be an athlete because of the sense of community I was introduced to the minute I walked onto campus.
What do you like most about the balance in Division III between academics and athletics?
The balance in Division III between academics and athletics can be challenging but rewarding. We are encouraged to work hard in the classroom and the pool.
What unique opportunities has Goucher provided for you in your studies?
Goucher has allowed me to study abroad for a full semester in Ireland and be a part of a research team that has helped me form relationships and expand in the field of psychology.
What do you hope to do after graduation?
I hope to work in Human Resources, specifically in the Industrial Organizational Psychology branch.
