TOWSON, Md. Goucher put a scare into visiting Scranton today in its final match of the 2009-10 season before the Royals won four times in singles play to pull out a 5-4 Landmark Conference victory.

TOWSON, Md. By winning two of the three doubles matches and prevailing four times during the singles competition, Goucher was able to register its first victory of the 2009-10 season over a Landmark Conference opponent today. The Gophers defeated Catholic, 6-3.

But the senior's 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-6) triumph over Jillian Elkaim enabled the undefeated Gophers to pull off their second sweep in singles play so far in 2009-10.
