Gophers Suffer Defeat to Regionally-Ranked Hamilton

The Continentals (7-1) took all six singles matches in straight sets. Alice Goldstein-Plesser (Durham, N.C./Durham School of the Arts) had the most competitive set for the Gophers (3-2), falling 6-4 in the second to Anna Jaeger after a 6-0 defeat in the opening set at the No. 5 singles position.
Hamilton's Isabella Schoning defeated Alex Walsh (Greens Farm, Conn./Staples) 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Leigh Oehrig (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) lost by the same score to Mei Lin Pratt at No. 6.
Walsh and Kirsten Cianci (Bolton, Conn./Bolton) came closest to gaining a point for Goucher in doubles. The duo ultimately dropped an 8-5 decision to Liz Detwiler and Rachel Friedman at the No. 1 spot.
The Gophers remain down south for their next matchup, a 10 a.m. tilt against Nichols in Tampa on Thursday.
