Women's Tennis Storms Back to Win at Home, 5-4
The Goucher College women’s tennis team (3-3, Landmark 0-0) rallied back to win, 5-4, in singles play after trailing 2-1 following doubles play.
TOWSON, MD – The Goucher College women's tennis team (3-3, Landmark 0-0) rallied back to win, 5-4, in singles play after trailing 2-1 following doubles play.
The Goucher duo of sophomore Ali Tomasevich (Harleysville, PA) and junior Mackenzie Donohue (Bronx, NY) sealed the Gophers' lone win in doubles play, 8-6.
Goucher and Bryn Mawr split the first two singles matches to expire, with senior Leigh Oehrig (Woodbine, MD) defeating Sydney Kim at No. 3 singles 6-1, 7-5. The Gophers and Owls then split No. 2 and No. 4 singles, bringing the score to 4-3 in favor of Bryn Mawr.
Tomasevich and Donohue came up clutch again for the Gophers, winning No. 5 and No. 6 singles, sealing the win for Goucher. Tomasevich put forth a dominating performance, winning 6-0, 7-5. Donohue and Bryn Mawr's Alice Prodosky battled to a 7-5, 6-4 finish.
