Women’s Tennis Blanks St. Elizabeth On the Road, 9-0
EDISON, N.J. - The Goucher College women’s tennis team made quick work of host College of St. Elizabeth on Friday afternoon, as the visiting Gophers shutout the Eagles, 9-0.

With the win, Goucher improved to 3-5 overall, while St. Elizabeth fell to 0-1 with the loss.
Goucher got things rolling on the day with a sweep of three doubles matches.
First, in the number three spot of the line-up, sophomore Katie Marzerka (Wolfeboro, N.H.) and junior Meera Balasubramanian (Bel Air, Md.) rolled to an 8-1 win, which was followed up by a 8-0 shutout victory at number two by senior Mackenzie Donohue (Bronx, N.Y.) and first-year Morgan Hartman (Woodstock, Vermont).
In the top spot of doubles, sophomore Ali Gorson-Morrow (Broomall, Pa.) and junior Miranda Egan-Brooks (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also coasted to an 8-0 win to complete the sweep of doubles for the Gophers.
It was more of the same for Goucher in singles action, where the Gophers won all six matches.
Five of those six singles victories for Goucher were in straight sets. Egan-Brooks captured a 6-0, 6-2 win at number two, Donohue (second), Marzerka (fifth) and Balasubramanian (sixth) all won their matches in 6-0, 6-0 shutouts, and Harman captured her match at number four, 6-1, 6-0.
In the top spot in the singles lineup, Gorson-Morrow completed the sweep for Goucher with a three-set win (6-1, 3-6, 10-8).
The Goucher College women's tennis team returns to action on Thursday, as they travel to Immaculata for another road non-conference match. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m.
