Women’s Tennis Opens Landmark Conference Play with 7-2 win at Susquehanna
SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Goucher College women’s tennis team swept doubles, then captured four of six singles matches to roll past host Susquehanna, 7-2, on Saturday in their Landmark Conference opener.

With the win, which was the fourth straight for the Gophers, Goucher improved to 5-5 overall and 1-0 in the Landmark. Susquehanna fell to 3-7 and 0-1 Landmark with the defeat.
In doubles action, the tandem of senior Mackenzie Donohue (Bronx, N.Y.) and Kyoko Konoshita (Tokyo, Japan) rolled to an 8-3 win at number two, which was followed up by an 8-4 win at number three by first-year Morgan Hartman (Woodstock, Vermont) and junior Meera Balasubramanian (Bel Air, Md.).
The sweep of doubles was completed at number one by junior Miranda Egan-Brooks (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and sophomore Ali Gorson-Morrow (Broomall, Pa.) pulled out an 8-6 win to put Goucher up, 3-0 entering singles.
There, Egan-Brooks (6-2, 6-4 at number two), Hartman (6-3, 6-4 at number four) and Konishita (7-5, 6-0 at number six) became two-time winners on the day to clinch the win for Goucher. The Gophers' last victory on the day came at number five where sophomore Katie Marzerka (Wolfeboro, N.H.) was a 6-2, 6-2 winner.
The Goucher College women's tennis team returns to action on Thursday when they travel to Albright for a non-conference match. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m.
