Women’s Tennis Finishes 2018 Season, Celebrates Senior Class
TOWSON, Md, - The Goucher College women’s tennis team was busy over the last two days, hosting three matches at home, while also honoring junior Miranda Egan Brooks (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and senior Mackenzie Donohue (Bronx, N.Y.) in the final matches of their Goucher careers.

The Gophers, however, fell in each match they played on the weekend, losing to Elizabethtown on Saturday (7-2) and both Moravian (7-2) and SUNY-Oneonta (8-1) on Sunday. With the results, Goucher finishes the year with a 7-12 overall mark and a 1-6 ledger in the Landmark Conference.
Against Elizabethtown on Saturday, Goucher was able to pull out two victories in a pair of singles matches. At number five, sophomore Katie Marzerka (Wolfeboro, N.H.) defeated Kaitlyn O'Conner 6-3, 6-4. And, at number six, first-year Kyoko Kinoshita (Tokyo, Japan) defeated Ava Framm 6-0, 6-1.
In the Moravian match, the tandem of Kinoshita and Donohue pulled out an 8-6 decision at number two doubles, while in singles, the Gophers' lone win was notched by Konoshita at number five in straight sets (6-3. 6-1).
Against SUNY-Oneonta, Marzerka was the lone Gopher to take a win, as she captured a thrilling three-set win (7-5, 6-7 (5-10), 10-3).
With seven victories on the year, Goucher finishes with their highest win total on a season since 2013-14 when they captured nine matches. The Gophers also had a four-match winning streak during the Spring, as well.
