Women's Tennis Rolls Past Trinity Washington in 9-0 Sweep

TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College women's tennis team didn't lose a point in doubles or a set in singles on Saturday against Trinity Washington, as the Gophers rolled to a 9-0 win.
With the victory, the Gophers moved to 2-1 on the Fall campaign.
To begin the day on Saturday, Goucher swept doubles, with all three teams winning by 8-0. The tandems for Goucher were: first-year Anais Gill and junior Mandile Mpofu (Harare, Zimbabwe) at number one, senior Ali Tomasevich (Harleysville, Pa.) and sophomore Morgan Hartman (Woodstock, Vt.) at number two, and Haddie Hill (San Antonio, Texas) and Katie Marzerka (Wolfeboro, N.H.) at number three.
It was more of the same in singles, where each match was won by Goucher, 6-0, 6-0.
Gill (at number one), Mpofu (at number two), Tomasevich (at number three) and Hartman (at number four) all became two-time winners on the day in singles. Meanwhile, senior Meera Balasubramanian (Bel Air, Md.) was a winner at number five, and sophomore Sara Healy (Leesburg, Va.) was victorious at number six.
The Goucher College women's tennis team returns to action on Tuesday, as they travel to York for their final match of the Fall 2018 season. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
