Gophers Wrap Up Fall at Goucher Invitational

TOWSON, Md. - The Goucher College women's tennis team closed out the fall with the Goucher Invitational on Sunday.  The Invitational consisted of four singles and two doubles brackets.

In the B doubles bracket, Aaliyah Ybarra and Jessica Townes recorded a third-place finish.  The pair won their opening match against a pairing from Gettysburg 4-0, 4-2 before falling in the semifinals to the winning duo from Sweet Briar 4-3 (2), 4-2.  In the third place match, Townes and Ybarra recorded a 4-1, 4-1 win over Stockton University.

Natalia Navarro and Meline Sigen finished fourth in the A doubles draw, winning their opening match against Lebanon Valley 4-2, 4-1 before falling in the semifinals to Sweet Briar 4-1, 4-1.

Lucy Ingraham placed fourth in C singles, posting a 4-2, 4-3 (4) win over her Dickinson opponent in an opening round win.  In the third place match she fell in three sets to her Lebanon Valley opponent 3-4, 4-2, 10-7.

Rachel Haupt placed sixth in B singles, winning her opening consolation round match against Rutgers Camden 4-0, 4-1.
