Gophers Blank Catholic, Advance to Landmark Semifinals

TOWSON, Md. - Fourth-seeded Goucher College blanked No. 5 Catholic University 5-0 in the first round of the 2024 Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Championship Tuesday afternoon at the Schroedl Tennis Center. The Gophers advance to face top-seeded Drew University in Thursday's semifinal round.
- Goucher (11-7) opened up a 3-0 lead over Catholic (10-12) in doubles.
- Meline Siggen and Aaliyah Ybarra recorded an 8-2 win at No. 3.
- Natalia Navarro and Eliza Abady pushed past their opponents for an 8-5 win at No. 1.
- In the second flight, Lucy Ingraham and Jessica Townes prevailed in a tiebreaker, winning 8-7 (7-2).
- Navarro earned Goucher's first singles point with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1.
- Shelby Meek clinched the match with her 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4.
- The Gophers took the first set in three of the unfinished singles matches.
- Ingraham won the first set 6-0 at No. 2 and trailed 5-4 in the second.
- Abady dropped her first set 6-4 at No. 3, but was leading in the second 5-2.
