Goucher Secures Landmark Victory Against Juniata

HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Goucher College Gophers (6-7 Overall; 2-2 Conference) traveled to face the Juniata College Eagles (3-4 Overall; 1-3 Conference). The Gophers beats the Eagles 5-2 in Conference play.

Doubles

The Gophers were able to win the doubles point, despite being short a player.
In the No. 1 doubles, Eliza Abady and Meline Siggen fought to secure the 7-5 win.
Shelby Meek and Sarai Oquendo Silveira won in the No. 2 doubles 6-4.

Singles

The two points for the Eagles came from winning the No. 1 singles match, and the forfeited No. 6 match.
In the No. 2 singles, Lucy Ingraham fought back after dropping the first set to win the next two (4-6, 6-2, 6-1).
Abady won the No. 3 singles in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.
In the No. 4 doubles, Meek was able to finish off her opponent 6-1, 6-1 as well.
Oquendo Silveira won the No. 5 spot despite a tough first set (6-4, 6-1).
