Women’s Track & Field Finishes Sixth at 2018 Landmark Conference Indoor Championships
SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Sophomore Natalie Kent (Media, Pa.) earned All-Landmark Conference honors in the shot put, leading the Gophers to a sixth place finish at the 2018 Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Susquehanna.
SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Sophomore Natalie Kent (Media, Pa.) earned All-Landmark Conference honors in the shot put, leading the Gophers to a sixth place finish at the 2018 Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Susquehanna.
Overall, Moravian captured the Landmark's Indoor title as a team for 2018, finishing with 173 total points.
On the day, Kent had a second place finish in the shot put to lead the way, posting a toss of 35 feet, 9.25 inches. In the same event, fellow sophomore Taylor Gunter (Laurel, Md.) was fourth, finishing with a 34 feet, 11.75 effort.
Gunter also posted a high finish in the weight throw, placing third with an effort of 44 feet, 6.25 inches. In the last event of note in field events for Goucher, sophomore Gabby Blazek (New Orleans, La.) was third in the pole vault, posting a clearance of 9 feet, 5.75 inches.
In track events, Goucher's 4x200 relay team of sophomore's Michell Wolinsky (New York, N.Y.) and Anna Gallina (Whitehall, Pa.) and first-years Kennedy Lowery and Enid Swatson (Accra, Ghana) finished third with a time of 1:55.24. Gallina also had high finishes in the 200-meter dash (28.18), placing seventh and the 400-meter dash, finishing 10th (1:07.48).
The Landmark Conference Indoor Championships conclude the indoor portion of Goucher's season schedule. The Gophers will open their outdoor season on March 24th, as the program hosts the annual Goucher College Track & Field Invitational.
