Gunter, Blazek And Gallina Nab All-Landmark Conference Honors
BALTIMORE, Md. – Taylor Gunter (Laurel, Md./Sandy Spring Friends School), a member of the Goucher track and field team, picked up All-Landmark Conference first and second-team selections announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Gunter won the shot put with a throw of 11.31m on Saturday to claim her first all-conference first-team selection of her career for the indoor season. She started the championships with a second-place standing in the weight throw with a personal-best toss of 14.30 to earn all-conference second-team honors.
Gabby Blazek (New Orleans, La./Louise S McGehee) and Anna Gallina (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) were also named to the All-Landmark Conference second team. Blazek was only the second participate to clear the 3.04m mark on the women's side. The junior cleared the height on her third attempt. The mark for Blazek was a personal best and the second-best mark in school history to hand her an all-conference second-team nod for the first time in her indoor career. Gallina finished second in the 60m dash with a time of 8.35 to place second in the event for her first all-conference selection in the indoor season.
