Quartet Shaves 15 Seconds Off Record in 4 x 800February 3, 2007
COLLEGEVILLE, PA — Goucher relay teams finished 10th
place or higher in three events — and one set a new indoor
school record — today at the Frank Colden Invitational.
The quartet of Marisa Long (Hampton Bays,
NY/Sachem), Rachel Boss (Keene,
NH/Keene), Becky Foner (Cape Elizabeth, ME/Cape
Elizabeth) and Fraley Coles (The Plains,
VA/Highland School) completed the 4 x 800-meter relay in
10:40.94. In addition to being a new school record by approximately
15 seconds, the time allowed the quartet to finish in fourth
place.
Goucher's 4 x 200-meter (2:03.91) and 4 x 400-meter (4:44.47)
relays placed eighth and 10th, respectively.
By earning five points in the 4 x 800 and another in the 4 x 200,
Goucher wound up in a tie with Ursinus in 18th place in the final
team scoring.
