Kellon Turns In Pair of First-Place Performances

Jaclyn Kellon (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/St. Peter Chanel) accounted for two of the three first-place performances as she was the first accross the finish line in both the 400-meter run and the 400-meter hurdles. She completed the 400 in 59.46 seconds, which is the third-fastest time in that event in the history of Goucher's outdoor women's track and field program.
In the 400 hurdles, she was clocked at 1:06.25, which ranks No. 7 all-time in program history.
In addition to the 10 points Kellon earned by placing first, the Gophers scored another six points in the event: four by Stephanie Correa (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) for fifth place (1:15.92) and two by Danielle Granger (Amherst, Va./Amherst County) for seventh place (1:16.97).
Kamillah Smith (Northampton, Mass./Amherst Regional) was the only runner to complete the 100-meter dash in under 13 seconds as she placed first in the event with a time of :12.78. There have only been three faster times in the 100 dash in program history.
Smith also placed third in the 200-meter dash (:27.19).
In the 1,500 meters, Katherine Currier (Brooklyn, N.Y./LaGuardia) placed sixth and her time of 5:02.48 ranks No. 5 all-time at Goucher. In the 5,000 meters, Hallie Yarmus (Groton, Mass./F.W. Parker Charter) took third place and Sarah Pardus (Stratham, N.H./Exeter) fourth with times of 21:16.83 and 21:29.66, respectively.
Sara Aganovic (Pasadena, Md./McDonogh) placed fourth in both the long jump (15' 4.25") and the triple jump (33' 1"). Her effort in the triple jump ranks No. 3 all-time at Goucher.
Maafio Appiah-Padi (Edmonton, Alberta/Lewisburg Area) achieved a pair of sixth-place finishes. One was in the shot put (34') and the other in the hammer throw (86' 8").
Granger finished in sixth place in the 100-meter hurdles (:18.19) and Haley Augustson (Athens, W.Va./PikeView) was seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (13:49.17).
The Gophers came away with points in two relay events. The entry of Smith, Correa, Granger and Kellon completed the 4 x 100-meter relay in 53.65 seconds, good for third place, and the quartet of Kellon, Correa, Granger and Jewell Porter (Silver Spring, Md./John F. Kennedy) was fifth in the 4 x 400 meters (4:30.87).
With a team score of 88 points, head coach John Caslin's contingent ended up in fifth place.
