Women’s Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season at York Twilight Meet

On the night, Goucher's highest finish was recorded by sophomore Natalie Kent (Media, Pa.) in the shot put, finishing fourth with a 36 foot, 0.25-inch effort.
Elsewhere, sophomore Taylor Gunter (Laurel, Md.) had a personal-best in the hammer throw with a 118-foot toss that put her in ninth place overall in the event. Also in the hammer, Kent was 14th place (104 feet, seven inches), as her effort was also a personal-best.
On the track, sophomore Anna Gallina (Whitehall, Pa.) was ninth in the 100-meter dash, crossing the finish line in a personal-best time of 13.29. With her efforts in both the 100 and 400-meters (1:04.26), Gallina now has the fastest times in each event in the Landmark Conference on the young outdoor season.
To round out the top performances on the night, first-year Enid Swatson (Accra, Ghana) had personal-bests in the 200 (29.75) and 400 (1:10.14)-meters, as did fellow first-year Isabel Srour (Potomac, Md.) in the 800 (2:49.49) and 1500-meters (6:06.49). Sophomore Victoria Wheeler (Kinnelon, N.J.) also hit a PR in the 800-meters (2:48.33), as well.
The Goucher College women's track & field team returns to action on Saturday, April 7 when they travel to Mary Washington for the Battleground Relays.
