Bio

Mikhail Williamson is in his first season as a graduate assistant for both the cross country and track & field programs at Goucher College.

Williamson came to Goucher after a successful track and field career at LIU Brooklyn, where he competed in the sprints and hurdles. There, he excelled for the NCAA Division I member, where he helped the Blackbirds win back-to-back Northeast Conference Championships (2014-2015), along with an Outdoor IC4A Championship in 2015. 

Individually, Williamson earned Second Team All-American honors twice, while also earning USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team honors twice, as well. A native of Kingston, Jamaica, he competed at the 2007 Carifta Games representing his home country and is a multiple time Jamaican National Qualifier.

After graduating LIU Brooklyn in 2015 with a degree in Exercise Science, Williamson served as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at LIU Brooklyn for the 2014 through 2016 seasons.

He guided the Strength and Conditioning program for men’s and women track and field, women’s cross country, women’s swimming and women’s bowling. In his time in the position, LIU’s men’s track won the NEC Indoor Championships and the women’s track team finished second in the same event, while in the outdoor season, both the men's and women's teams placed second in the NEC. Meanwhile, the Bowling team finished their season ranked 13th in the nation. He also prepared the S&C program for a few standouts, such as Olympic and World Championship bronze medalist Brendon Rodney, and NCAA All-American Mica-Jonathon Petite Homme. 

Mikhail is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and was employed as an Exercise Physiologist at Definitions Private Training Gyms in NYC before following his passion for coaching Track and Field at Goucher. Mikhail completed his Bachelor’s of Science in Sports Science and Master’s of Science in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition at LIU-Brooklyn. He is now pursuing a Masters of Education with a focus in Athletic Leadership and Administration at Goucher.
