TOWSON, MD — Goucher improved to 7-0 against
non-conference opponents at home this season when the Gophers
defeated Washington Bible, 3-0, tonight in the Sports &
Recreation Center.
Game scores were 30-15, 30-14, 30-18 and it was the Gophers' second
victory over the Cougars in 2006.
The Gophers (13-11) never trailed after the ninth point in any of
the games and they led from start to finish in the middle game of
the match. They served 25 aces, the most against any opponent so
far this season.
Goucher's leaders were: Margaret Egiziaco (Valhalla,
NY/Valhalla) with 12 kills, Megan Smith (Long
Beach, CA/Long Beach Polytechnic) with 10 digs,
Catie Ditmore (Santa Barbara, CA/Laguna Blanca)
with 26 assists, and Megan Epps (Woodside, DE/Lake
Forest) and Ditmore with six service aces apiece.
