LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. - Catie Ditmore (Santa Barbara, CA/Laguna Blanca) set a new school record by serving 15 aces tonight as Goucher stretched its winning streak to four matches with a 3-0 victory over Lincoln. Game scores were 30-6, 30-11, 30-27.
Ditmore broke the single-match school record of 14 service aces that was established by Laura Maggio during a match against Washington (Md.) on Sept. 5, 2001. In that match, the Gophers also set a team record with its total of 29 service aces, but that mark also fell tonight. Including Ditmore's 15, head coach Michael Bossom's squad was credited with 36 service aces in the win over the Lions (1-8).
Megan Smith (Honolulu, HI/Long Beach Polytechnic) led the Gophers (6-4) in kills with nine, which matches the entire team total for Lincoln, which recorded a -.268 attack percentage during the match.
