The Gophers not only were beaten by Juniata, 3-0 (25-15, 25-11, 25-21), but also by Catholic, 3-1 (25-23, 27-29, 25-14, 25-19).

SELINSGROVE, Pa. –Goucher drew the unenviable assignment of facing the top-ranked Division III team in the nation today in its first Landmark Conference match of the season. The Gophers not only were beaten by Juniata, 3-0 (25-15, 25-11, 25-21), but also by Catholic, 3-1 (25-23, 27-29, 25-14, 25-19).
Not one Goucher player recorded more than six kills in the three-set match against Juniata (10-0, 1-0 Landmark) and only Kasey Quinn (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) reached double figures in digs as the sophomore libero was credited with 17.
The Eagles are the defending Landmark Conference champions and are presently ranked No. 1 in the nation in Division III by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
Quinn supplied the Gophers (6-10, 0-2 Landmark) with a career-high 33 digs in the four-set match against the Cardinals (5-10, 1-1 Landmark). Rebecca Schaefer (River Edge, N.J./River Dell) and Catie Ditmore (Santa Barbara, Calif./Laguna Blanca) executed 12 and 11 kills, respectively, and Claire Sauvage-Mar (New Delhi, India/American Embassy School) had 36 assists.
