SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Goucher avoided coming away from a weekend of Landmark Conference matches empty-handed by pinning a 3-1 setback on the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy this afternoon.
Set scores were 16-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-18.
After bowing to Juniata and Catholic on Saturday, the Gophers (7-10, 1-2 Landmark) dropped the first set against the Mariners before taking the next three to win a four-set match for only the second time this season.
Not one Goucher player had more than seven kills in the match. Kasey Quinn (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) contributed 31 digs to the victory.
