TOWSON, Md. – Goucher ran its winning streak against
non-conference opponents in the Sports & Recreation Center to
10 matches by turning back Hood, 3-0, tonight.
Set scores were 25-18, 27-25, 25-22.
The Gophers (12-14), who last lost at home to a non-conference
opponent on September 8, 2007 when they were beaten by Stevenson
(formerly Villa Julie), matched their season-high total for kills
in a three-set match. Of their 38 kills, Megan Smith
(Honolulu, Hawaii/Long Beach Polytechnic) accounted for 19
and Carolyn Crissey (Philadelphia, Pa./Creative &
Performing Arts) and Catie Ditmore (Santa Barbara,
Calif./Laguna Blanca) for seven apiece.
Smith finished with a .429 attack percentage and had a team-high
21 digs to go along with her 19 kills.
Claire Sauvage-Mar (New Delhi, India/American Embassy
School) supplied the Gophers with 33 assists in their
victory over the Blazers (1-14).
