Gophers Knock Profs from Ranks of Unbeatens

Set scores were 25-17, 26-24, 22-25, 25-12, and the loss was the first of the season for the Profs (5-1).
Megan Smith (Honolulu, Hawaii/Long Beach Polytechnic) supplied team-high totals of 16 kills and 31 digs to the victory. Kasey Quinn (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) also accomplished a double-double of 14 kills and 17 digs.
The Gophers (5-2) were credited with a season-high 129 digs in the match. In addition to Smith and Quinn, three other players reached double figures in digs: Rebecca Schaefer (River Edge, N.J./River Dell) established a new career-high with 26 digs, while Ashley Fan (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) and Claire Sauvage-Mar (New Delhi, India/American Embassy School) finished with 25 and 16, respectively.
Sauvage-Mar also had a total of 37 assists.
Goucher hasn't lost to a non-conference opponent at home since suffering a 30-22, 30-28, 30-24 setback to Stevenson on September 8, 2007.
