Gophers' Winning Streak Reaches Six Matches

Megan Smith (Honolulu, Hawaii/Long Beach Polytechnic) turned in another dominating performance for the Gophers (6-2). The senior outside hitter contributed 18 kills to the victory and made only one hitting error as she registered a sparkling .500 attack percentage. She also was credited with a team-leading 17 digs.
Claire Sauvage-Mar (New Delhi, India/American Embassy School) was awarded assists on 34 of Goucher's 38 kills in the match.
The only times the Saints (4-5) led in any of the sets were when they scored the first three points of the second set and the opening point of the third set. The Gophers went ahead to stay in the middle set on a service error that snapped a 4-4 tie, and after spotting Marymount the first point of the final set, they reeled off seven consecutive points.
Since a 30-22, 30-28, 30-24 setback to Stevenson on September 8, 2007, the Gophers have defeated the last 16 non-conference opponents they've faced at home.
