Gophers Knock Off Aggies, Clinch Winning Record

Smith, Quinn Combine for 20 Kills, 19 Digs in 3-0 Victory

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. — Goucher guaranteed itself a winning record this season by defeating Delaware Valley, 3-0, this afternoon. Set scores were 25-19, 25-14, 25-17.

Megan Smith (Honolulu, Hawaii/Long Beach Polytechnic) contributed 12 kills and five digs to the victory, which puts head coach Michael Bossom's Gophers (15-11) four matches above .500 for the first time since they got off to a 6-2 start.

Kasey Quinn (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) was credited with eight kills and nine digs in the three-set match. Catie Ditmore (Santa Barbara, Calif./Laguna Blanca) finished with a team-leading 10 digs and Claire Sauvage-Mar (New Delhi, India/American Embassy School) recorded 24 assists against the Aggies (15-10).

This was the first match between the two schools since the Gophers pinned a 3-0 (30-16, 30-26, 30-17) setback on the Aggies on October 21, 2006.
