Volleyball to Face USMMA in Landmark Play-In Match Sunday

TOWSON, Md. -- The Landmark Conference announced the schedule for the 2013 volleyball postseason tournament earlier today, with sixth-seeded Goucher slated to host U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in a play-in match at 4 p.m. this Sunday.

The winner of that match will advance to play at third-seeded Catholic on Tuesday, Nov. 5. This year's play-in match was created to allow USMMA, which could not play a conference match this season due to the federal government shutdown, an opportunity to reach the tournament.

The Gophers (9-17) are 6-0 lifetime in conference play against the Mariners (10-3), including a 25-17, 25-18, 25-18 victory in Towson last season.

The full tournament schedule is listed below. Goucher next plays at Washington (Md.) at 7 p.m. tomorrow night.

First Round – Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Higher Seeds
No. 6 Goucher/USMMA Winner at No. 3 Catholic – 7:00 p.m.
No. 5 Moravian at No. 4 Scranton – 7:00 p.m.

Semifinals – Friday, Nov. 8 at Juniata
No. 5/No. 4 Winner at No. 1 Juniata – 5:30 p.m.
No. 6/No. 3 Winner vs. No. 2 Susquehanna – 8:00 p.m.

Championship – Saturday, Nov. 9 at Juniata
