Bossom Steps Aside After Eight Years as Head Coach

TOWSON, Md. — Goucher volleyball head coach Michael Bossom has announced his resignation from the position, effective May 31. Bossom steps aside after amassing 106 victories over eight years at the helm for the Gophers.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Goucher, where I had the opportunity to coach some of the most dedicated student-athletes in collegiate sports," Bossom said. "One of the most memorable parts of this job was working with all of the great student-athletes and alumnae over the past eight years. It's the people that made this job so rewarding."

Bossom will return to his previous coaching position at Centennial High School in Ellicott City. He has continued to work there as a physical education teacher, and served as volleyball coach at the school for 12 seasons prior to joining the Gophers.

"While I am sorry to see Mike go, I totally understand and respect his rationale for wanting to spend more time with his family," athletic director Geoff Miller said. "Mike has done an excellent job in making our volleyball program better, and he has left the program in good hands for his successor."
