Tweedie, Kuehl Supply 33 Kills to Victory Over Lions

And that was just the first set of tonight's match between Goucher and Albright.
Over the course of the entire match, the score was tied no less than 34 times and the lead changed hands on 16 different occasions. The Lions won the opening set, but the Gophers came back to take the next three as they came away with a 23-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-15 victory.
The final tie in the opening set was at 21-21. After that, three Goucher hitting errors and a service ace by Becca Davis accounted for Albright's final four points.
Michelle Tweedie (Accra, Ghana/Lincoln Community School) had six kills for the Gophers (8-15) in the first set. Her total for the match stood at nine after she secured the 25th point with a kill to wrap up the second set.
Hannah Kuehl (Plymouth, N.H./Plymouth Regional) supplied Goucher with six kills in the third set, including the one at set point.
Kuehl's final kill of the night, which was No. 16 overall, put head coach Kelly Wilkinson's squad up 14-13 in the fourth set. Tweedie, however, would earn four of the Gophers' final 11 points with kills, including the final two points of the match, and was able to overtake her teammate as she ended up with 17.
Sarah Johnson (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) assisted 38 of Goucher's 42 kills.
For the Lions (3-14), only Maddy Greth reached double figures in kills as she was credited with 10.
The only remaining home match on the 2015 schedule is against Penn St.-Mont Alto at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
