BALTIMORE, Md. - Goucher College volleyball went for 1-1 today in Goldfarb Gymnasium, defeating Bryn Mawr 3-0 and losing to Johns Hopkins 3-0.
Bryn Mawr
The Gophers won their sets 25-11, 25-21, and 25-20. They totaled for 40 kills on 97 total attacks.
Sophomore Olivia Rhodes (St. Charles, Mo.) led the team with 30 assists in the match.
First-year Greta Coss (Bowie, Md.) and sophomore Sarah Weeden (Monmouth Junction, N.J.) led the Gophers in kills. Coss tallied 12 kills and 32 total attacks and Weeden had 10 kills and 19 total attacks. Coss also notched a season high of six aces.
First-year Bianca Brown (North Brunswick, N.J.) tallied two of her four blocks on the day during the match, a career high.
Johns Hopkins
The Blue Jays dominated the first set 25-8, and took the next two sets 25-23 and 25-15.
Rhodes led the team in digs with 7 and recorded 15 assists.
Brown tied her career high in blocks which she set in the previous match.
Weeden led the team in kills (7) and total attacks (17).
The Gophers are back in action next week Tuesday against Shenandoah at 7 pm.
