Coss, Brown Lead Volleyball to Split on First Day of Haverford Invitational
HAVERFORD, Pa. - Sophomore Greta Coss (Bowie, Md.) had nine kills, while Bianca Brown (North Brunswick, N.J.) added eight kills, as the Goucher College volleyball team pulled out a 3-1 win over Bard on the first day of the Haverford Invitational on Saturday (27-25, 26-24, 23-25, 25-23).

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Sophomore Greta Coss (Bowie, Md.) had nine kills, while Bianca Brown (North Brunswick, N.J.) added eight kills, as the Goucher College volleyball team pulled out a 3-1 win over Bard on the first day of the Haverford Invitational on Saturday (27-25, 26-24, 23-25, 25-23).
In their first match of the day, the Gophers fell to Wheaton in three sets (25-12, 25-19, 25-17). With the results, the Gophers moved to 1-2 on the year.
In the Bard match, Coss led the way with a nine kill, 10 dig performance. Brown, meanwhile, added eight kills and was dominant up front with seven blocks (one solo). Setting up the offense all game was the first-year duo of Serena Lum (Honolulu, Hawaii) and Tes DeJaeger (Norwalk, Conn.), who had 14 assists, apiece.
On the defensive end, junior Virginia Estes (Homewood, Ala.) led the way with 15 digs.
In the Wheaton contest, Coss went into double-figures on the attack with 11 kills, while DeJaeger had 16 assists to set-up the attack.
Goucher wraps up play at the Haverford Invitational on Sunday, taking on Bethany at 12 p.m., then Farmingdale St. at 2 p.m.
