Volleyball Rolls Past Farmingdale State to Finish Off Haverford Invitational
HAVERFORD, Pa. - Sophomore Bianca Brown (North Brunswick, N.J.) led the way with a match-high 13 kills, pacing the Goucher College volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Farmingdale State on Sunday in their final match at the Haverford Invitational (25-22, 25-23, 25-14).

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Sophomore Bianca Brown (North Brunswick, N.J.) led the way with a match-high 13 kills, pacing the Goucher College volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Farmingdale State on Sunday in their final match at the Haverford Invitational (25-22, 25-23, 25-14).
In their first match on Sunday, the Gophers fell to Bethany in three sets (14-25, 19-25, 15-25). With the split, Goucher ends the first weekend of the 2018 season with a 2-3 overall record.
Against Farmingdale State, Brown went into double-figures on the attack for the first time on the year with her 13-kill performance. Meanwhile, first-year Nicole Blount (Fayetteville, Ga.) posted her first double-digit kill performance in a match in her career, finishing with 10 kills. Fellow first-year Kaya Melchor (Mililani, Hawaii) chipped in with nine kills and nine digs in the win, as well.
The Goucher attack was set-up all match by first-year Tes DeJaeger (Norwalk, Conn.) with 36 assists, while on defense, first-year Cat Hartley (Colorado Springs, Colo.) ended the match with 19 digs.
In the Bethany match, sophomore Greta Coss (Bowie, Md.) led the Gopher attack with nine kills, while DeJaeger finished with 13 assists.
The Goucher College volleyball team returns to action on Wednesday, as they stay in Baltimore for a match at Notre Dame (Md.). First serve is set for 7 p.m.
