With the defeat, Goucher fell to 2-4 overall for the year, while Notre Dame remained unbeaten with the victory, improving to 5-0 overall.
On the evening, Goucher was led on the attack by first-year Kaya Melchor (Mililani, Hawaii), who finished the night with a team-high 11 kills. Melchor also had seven digs in the defeat, as well.
Elsewhere, first-year Grace Howl (Harwood, Md.) and sophomore Emily Sorrells (Annapolis, Md.) had nine kills, apiece. Howl also went into double-figures in digs with 10 on the night, as well.
Meanwhile, first-year setter Tes DeJaeger (Norwalk, Conn.) posted over 30 assists for the second straight match, finishing with 35, and fellow first-year Cat Hartley (Colorado Springs, Colo.) had a team-best 16 digs on the evening.
The Goucher College volleyball team returns to action on Saturday, as they travel to Bryn Mawr for a pair of matches. First, the Gophers take on Valley Forge at 12 noon, then the host Owls at 2 p.m.
