Volleyball Falls at Hood in Straight Sets Tuesday Night
FREDERICK, Md. - The Goucher College volleyball team traveled to Hood on Tuesday night, where the host Blazers were able to knock off the Gophers in straight sets, 3-0 (21-25, 14-25, 23-25).

With the defeat, Goucher dropped to 4-5 overall for the season, while Hood improved to 3-3 with the victory.
On the night in a losing effort, Goucher was led on the attack by sophomore Bianca Brown (North Brunswick, N.J.), who finished with eight kills. Setting up the Gopher attack all night was first-year Tes DeJaeger (Norwalk, Conn.), who went over 20 assists in a match for the fourth time in Goucher's last five matches, finishing with 23 in the defeat. DeJaerger also posted 16 digs in the match, as well.
Elsewhere, first-year Cat Hartley (Colorado Springs, Colo.) led the defense with 21 digs, while fellow first-year Kaya Melchor (Mililani, Hawaii) had 10 digs, while also posting six kills on the night.
Hood was led in their win by Elena Zinaich, who finished with 10 kills.
The Goucher College volleyball team returns to action on Saturday, as they host Hollins and Trinity Washington in a tri-match. The contest with Hollins begins at 12 p.m., followed by the Trinity Washington match at 4 p.m.
