Coss Has Big Night on Attack, as Volleyball Falls to St. Mary's in Four Sets
TOWSON, Md. - Sophomore Greta Coss (Bowie, Md.) hammered home a game-high 16 kills for the Goucher College volleyball team, but it wasn't enough, as visiting St. Mary's knocked off the Gophers, 3-1, on Friday evening (19-25, 19-25, 25-23, 15-25).

With the defeat, Goucher fell to 6-6 overall, while St. Mary's improved to 9-4 with the win.
In the match. St. Mary's came out and took a quick 2-0 lead on the Gophers after winning the first two sets by identical 25-19 scores. But, in the third set, Goucher came back, scoring four of the final six points of the frame to take a 25-23 win and continue the game.
Unfortunately, St. Mary's roared back in the fourth set, taking a big early lead and never looking back in a 10-point victory that clinched the match for the visiting Seahawks.
Overall on the night, Coss was a force for the Gophers on the attack, hammering home 16 kills for the second straight match. Coss also had 11 digs and a block assist on the evening, as well.
Elsewhere for Goucher, sophomore Bianca Brown (North Brunswick, N.J.) had eight kills, while first-year Tes DeJaeger (Norwalk, Conn.) set up the attack with 33 assists and also led the defense with 17 digs. Junior Virginia Estes (Homewood, Ala.) finished the night with 12 digs, while first-year Kaya Melchor (Mililani, Hawaii) ended with 11 digs, Melchor also had seven kills on the evening, as well.
The Goucher College volleyball team is right back at it on Saturday, as they host both Bridgewater and Misericordia in a tri-match. The match with Bridgwater begins at 12 noon, while the Misericordia contest begins at 4 p.m.
