Volleyball Ends Home Stand with Three-Set Loss to McDaniel
TOWSON, Md. - In the final match of a six-game homestand for the Goucher College volleyball team, visiting McDaniel posted a three-set victory over the Gophers on Tuesday evening inside the Decker SRC Arena (14-25, 13-25, 17-25).

With the defeat, the Gophers fell to 7-8 overall, while McDaniel improved to 11-2 with the victory.
In the defeat, McDaniel rolled to victories in the first two sets to go up 2-0 on the Gophers. However, in the third set, Goucher put up a fight, taking a 16-14 lead on the Green Terror late in the set.
But, McDaniel stormed back, going on an 11-1 run to end the match and take the three-set win over the Gophers.
Overall for Goucher in the defeat, first-year Kaya Melchor (Mililani, Hawaii) had five to lead the attack, while first-year setter Tes DeJaeger (Norwalk, Conn.) went into double-figures yet again in assists with 18. On defense, both first-year Cat Hartley (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and junior Virginia Estes (Homewood, Ala.) had eight digs, apiece, to lead the way.
The Goucher College volleyball team returns to action on Saturday, as they travel to Scranton to open Landmark Conference play. The Gophers will first take on Elizabethtown at 2:30 p.m., then the host Royals beginning at 5 p.m.
