Volleyball Falls in Landmark Conference Clash with Catholic, 3-0

With the loss, Goucher dropped to 10-14 overall and 0-4 in the Landmark Conference. Catholic improved to 18-11 and 3-1 in the Landmark with the victory.
In the defeat, Goucher surrendered leads in each of the first two sets to fall behind, 2-0. In the third and what turned out to be the final set, Goucher was able to cut the Catholic lead down to 24-23 late, but the Cardinals recorded the final point of the contest to take it in three.
Overall for the Gophers, sophomore Greta Coss (Bowie, Md.) once again led the Goucher attack, finishing with 12 kills, nine digs, and a career-best six solo blocks. The double-digit kill performance for Coss was her 11th of the year, and her sixth straight, overall.
Elsewhere, first-year Kaya Melchor (Mililani, Hawaii) finished with seven kills, while fellow first-year Tes DeJaeger (Norwalk, Conn.) ended the night with 28 assists and 10 digs. First-year libero Cat Hartley (Colorado Springs, Colo.) rounded out the top performances on the night for Goucher, leading the defense with 20 digs.
The Goucher College volleyball team returns to action on Saturday, as they head to Widener for a tri-match. The Gophers will first take on Delaware Valley in a neutral site affair at 12 noon, then the host Pride at 2 p.m.
